METHOD FOR PURIFYING PENTAMYCIN

A method for purifying pentamycin is provided to simply purify pentamycin by using a synthetic adsorption resin at room temperature. The method for purifying pentamycin represented by the formula(1) comprises the steps of: adding 20-30% alcohol into the fermented solution and filtering the solution; passing the alcohol extract of the filtered cells or pentamycin solution containing impurities through the column packed with the synthetic adsorption resin such as HP20, HP20SS or HZ-802; washing the column with organic solvent containing ketone such as 20-40% acetone; and eluting it with alcohols such as methanol, ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, wherein the filtered cells are extracted with 70-80% alcohol.
