<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system which enables a user to easily reconsider a processing mode judged as responsible for an output failure and can inhibit the generation of an ensuing output failure state, and to provide an imaging device. <P>SOLUTION: A job including the assignment of a processing mode such as for staple processing is sent to the imaging device 1 from an external device 2 through a communications circuit 3. The imaging device 1 receives the job and outputs it in an assigned processing mode. Then, it is judged whether the job can be outputted in the assigned processing mode until the completion of outputting the job, and in case the output is impossible, the processing mode is cancelled to complete the output of the job, and at the same time, the reasons why the execution outcome and the output are incomplete are posted to a contact to be notified such as the external device 2 which prompts the job. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
