<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus using a color sensor for control of image forming conditions, wherein sensor calibration is performed at a low cost and with high precision so as to attain stable image color. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus controls the image forming conditions according to detected output value of the optical type color sensor for an image for detection by detecting color reflection property of the image for detection formed on recording material by using the optical type color sensor. A reference image pattern is formed on the recording material by using chromatic color color material, the reference image pattern is detected by the optical type color sensor and the detected output value by the optical type color sensor is compensated according to the detected result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
