PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing heat transfer nonwoven fabrics in which many varieties of heat transfer nonwoven fabrics such as carpet and interior can be prepared at a low cost and long heat transfer nonwoven fabric can simply be produced and coloring obtained when heat-transferred with a subliming dye is improved and abrasion resistance is also improved. SOLUTION: An arbitrary design is prepared by a personal computer. A transfer paper 4 is prepared from the design with a printer by using an ink composed of the subliming dye and the transfer paper 4 is superposed on the upper surface of a nonwoven fabric composed of a polyester fiber, having 50-600 g/m<SP>2</SP>basis weight and containing a low-melting point binder fiber and the transfer paper 4 and the nonwoven fabric 10 are heat-pressed under prescribed conditions by a press 20 to heat-transfer the subliming dye of the transfer paper 4 to the nonwoven fabric 10.
