PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent application of a DC voltage on a liquid crystal due to the electric field generated by an electric circuit on which a voltage is applied, and to suppress degradation of the liquid crystal. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display apparatus 1 is equipped with a substrate 11; a pixel circuit 12, formed on the substrate 11 and having a plurality of pixel electrodes 2; an electric circuit 13 formed outside a region, where the pixel circuit 12 is formed on the substrate 11 and connected to the pixel circuit 12; a counter electrode 4, disposed facing the pixel circuit 12 and to the electric circuit 13; a liquid crystal layer 7 disposed between the substrate 11 and the counter electrode 4; and a conductive layer 16, positioned between the electric circuit 13 and the liquid crystal layer 7, and formed above the electric circuit 13 via an insulating layer 15.
