The tipper for raising open railway trucks (1) and emptying them into a bunker comprises hydraulic cylinders (11) connected to rocker arms (6) at one end. The opposite ends of the rocker arms are attached by pivots (D1) to a fixed base (9) and by a second pair of pivots (D2) to a tipping frame (5). A second cylinder (12) connects the center of the rocker arms with the frame.
