METHOD FOR JUDGING WHETHER BREAST PORTION IS LEFT OR RIGHT ONE

A method for easily judging whether an imaged portion in each breast image is a left or right breast and for dispensing with registration of information on the imaging order by the engineer. On receiving a plurality of breast images of a patient, a control unit (30) determines MLO breast images out of the breast images and the breast portions in the MLO breast images according to the registration information inputted through an operation unit. The control unit arranges the breast images in the order of their acquisition (imaging order) and judges whether the breast portion of each of the other breast images is a left or right one on the basis of the acquisition order and the MLO breast images. Further, the control unit determines the imaging directions of the other breast images on the basis of the information on the imaging order and the MLO breast images.
