PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an illumination adjusting instrument for a microscope which is simple and has high versatility and which strictly adjusts the optical axis or the like of Koehler illuminating light. SOLUTION: The illumination adjusting instrument 20 is attached to a revolver 12, and the light source projected image 15 of a light source 4 is formed at a position corresponding to the pupil surface 13a of an objective 13, and deflected by a plane mirror 30a, and formed on the CCD surface 34a of a camera 34 by respective relay lenses 31. The light source projected image 15 of Koehler illumination picked up by the camera 34 is monitored, and the optical axis and the focus of the Koehler illumination are adjusted by changing the positions of a relay lens 7 and the light source 4 provided in a vertical illumination light projecting tube 2.
