PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass composition for mold press forming which is hardly causing the evaporation of glass components, has a remarkably small burden to an apparatus such as the deterioration or the contamination of a mold. SOLUTION: The glass composition has ≤1,000°C devitrification temperature, ≤535° glass transition temperature Tg and a specific gravity within a range from 3 to 4. The glass composition has ≤500°C Tg, a refractive index (nd) within a range from 1.60 to 1.75 and an Abbe number (νd) within a range from 50 to 60. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
