<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display for widening a color reproduction range when using a cold cathode fluorescent lamp as a light source. <P>SOLUTION: A green phosphor of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp 21 is composed of BaMgAl<SB>10</SB>O<SB>17</SB>: Eu, Mn. In contrast to a green emission spectrum G100 in the case in which the green phosphor is composed of LaPO<SB>4</SB>: Ce, Tb, a wavelength region of a green emission spectrum G1 is at a short-wavelength side and the spectrum width is narrowed. Thus, overlapping of the wavelength region of green display light LOg and red display light LOr is small. In addition, spectrum characteristics (blue spectrum characteristics) of blue display light LOb satisfies a prescribed condition expression (condition expressions (1) to (3)).
