METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGHLY THERMOFORMABLE COLORED POLYMER FILM

Disclosed herein is a method of preparing a vacuum- or compression-formable polymeric film which has greatly improved extrusion properties and vacuum forming moldability and uniform color throughout, and can be provided with an antistatic layer thereon, comprising the steps of providing a base polymer; mixing a low-molecular weight compound highly compatible with the base polymer with a coloring ingredient in a weight ratio of 95:5 to 5:95 to give a colored liquid composition; and blending the colored liquid composition with the base polymer in such a way that the coloring ingredient is used in an amount from 0.001 to 10 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the base polymer, and extruding the blend into a polymeric film ranging in thickness from 0,1 to 5.0 mm. The colored polymeric film can be formed into an antistatic tray or container for carrying electronic elements. Having a color that contrasts electronic elements, the tray prepared from the polymeric film is convenient for workers to inspect the packaged parts.
