A gardening implement includes a handle, a head attached to the handle, the head being of elongate form with a longitudinal axis located at substantially right angles to a longitudinal axis of the handle. The elongate head is at least in part of a cross-sectional shape which forms a curved working surface and a flat surface which extends along the length of the elongate head. A cutting edge extends along the length of the elongate head.
