PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make normal reproduction possible on a reproduction side even if multichannels are selectively transmitted by compression or non-compression or even if downmixing on the reproduction side is selectively permitted or prohibited. SOLUTION: ATSI includes a first identifier to indicate whether multichannel data within an audio packet is compressed or not and a second identifier to permit or prohibit downmixing of the multichannel data into stereo two channels.
