REFLECTOR FOR FLUORESCENT LAMP

A reflector (10) for a fluorescent lamp formed in an integral molded unit is presented. The reflector (10) has arcuate side portions (18) which present a receptacle area for receiving a fluorescent light tube. The side portions (18) are joined together by a plurality of u-shaped cross braces (26) which extend between the side portions (18) at spaced locations along their length. Each of the cross braces (26) is formed by two intersecting planar surfaces (28a, 28b, 30a, 30b) which extend at acute angles relative to a common plane at the point of intersection. The result is less light loss through diffusion, improved reflectivity.
