PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light output method for deflecting a light beam responding to the light frequency without using a mechanical moving part by controlling the light frequency as a parameter. SOLUTION: The light output method includes steps of selectively changing optical frequencies of laser light on which communication data are superposed and outputting the light from an optical signal forming unit. The laser light is distributed to form a plurality of beams parallel to one another, while different retardations between a first direction and a second direction different from the first direction are imparted in a light output unit 4 to the laser light output from the optical signal forming unit, so that phases of the plurality of beams are successively changed in accordance with differences in optical frequencies and a propagation direction of interfered beams is made to scan on a two-dimensional plane.
