PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which can project still images that are sharper, by subjecting image data of a still image to an image transformation processing corresponding to the still image. SOLUTION: The projector 1 has a control device 5 which includes an interface 51 to acquire image data and identification information to identify the image data, an image deciding unit 53 to decide whether the image data represent a still image, based on the identification information, and an image transforming unit 54 to subject the image data to a predetermined image transformation process. When image data are decided as representing a still image by the image deciding unit 53, the image-transforming unit 54 subjects the image data to still image transformation processing, to obtain a display state that corresponds to the still image.
