PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin particle dispersion for an electrostatic image developing toner in which resin particles are stably emulsified and dispersed in an aqueous medium with low energy, and to provide a method for manufacturing an electrostatic image developing toner by which an electrostatic image developing toner satisfying toner characteristics can be manufactured using the resin particle dispersion, an electrostatic image developing toner obtained by the method and a method for manufacturing the same, an electrostatic image developer, and an image forming method using these. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the resin particle dispersion for an electrostatic image developing toner includes a step of obtaining a polycondensed resin-containing material by polycondensing a polycondensable monomer with an acid having a surface acting effect as a polycondensation catalyst under coexistence of a polycondensed resin; and a step of obtaining the resin particle dispersion having a median diameter of resin particles of 0.05-2.0μm by dispersing the polycondensed resin-containing material in an aqueous medium. There are also provided the electrostatic image developing toner and the method for manufacturing the same using the resin particle dispersion, the electrostatic image developer, and the image forming method using these.
