PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission with trunnions each of which has synchronized oscillation without increasing its size along the axial direction. SOLUTION: The toroidal continuously variable transmission comprises a pair of yokes 23A, 23B to be oscillated with the displacement of the trunnions 15 for supporting pivotal shafts 14 of the trunnions 15 in oscillatable and axially displaceable manners, supporting posts 64, 68 for supporting the yokes 23A, 23B in an oscillatable manner, and a synchronizing cable 260 for transmitting the oscillating motion of one of the trunnions 15 to the other trunnion 15 to synchronize both trunnions with each other. The synchronizing cable 260 is cross-coupled with both trunnions 15 to be synchronized with each other and guided by a cable support 300 rotatably supported by the supporting post 68 (64).
