<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection structure of a flat connecting member with a simple structure and easy in connection work, and a connection structure between substrates. <P>SOLUTION: A pair of ends 6a, 6b of a flat connecting member 6 such as a FFC or the like are held by a holding member 7. When the connecting member 6 is connected to base connectors 4, 5 on circuit boards 2, 3, the fitting peripheral wall 22 of the holding member 7 is fitted with the outer peripheral wall of a base housing 10. By this fitting, the end 6a of the connecting member 6 is guided to be inserted into an insertion recess 9, and the ends 6a, 6b of the connecting member 6 are inserted smoothly into the insertion recess 9 and connected to the opposite contact 11. The fitting peripheral wall 22 surrounds and protects the ends 6a, 6b of the connecting member 6 before connection.
