PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellular phone for determining sound data corresponding to a special character and for performing a process of outputting the sound data when a mail is received including the special character such as a pictorial symbol etc. SOLUTION: The cellular phone 100 comprises a display control unit 152 for displaying images for accepting an operation relating a predetermined pictorial symbol code to the sound data on a display unit 110, a setting unit 151 for accepting an operation of an input unit 120 by a user and for storing the accepted pictorial symbol code and the sound data into a storage unit 160, a pictorial symbol detecting unit 153 for detecting the pictorial symbol code within the mail received by a radio unit 140, a ringtone determining unit 154 for determining the sound data corresponding to the detected pictorial symbol code, and a speaker driving unit 170 for outputting a sound based on the determined sound data from a speaker 180.
