[Also in Division B7] To eliminate torsional stresses in the frame of an overhead travelling crane as it moves over rough ground, wheels 39, 41, Fig. 1, are mounted on the ends of a beam 37 which is pivoted at 38 to an end frame 17. Wheels 24, 25 are mounted directly on an end frame 15 which also supports an operator's cabin 45. The wheels 24, 39 are steered and wheels 25, 41 are driven by motors 27, 43, through chains and sprockets.
