An apparatus and a method for managing interface card hindrance of an asynchronous mobile communication system are provided to process a packet data service smoothly by providing FIB information rapidly even when an interface card comprised between an SGSN and GGSN is additionally installed. In a number of interface cards comprised between a SGSN(Serving Gateway Support Node)(30) and a GGSN(Gateway GPRS Support Node)(34), a card control part(36) checks the state of the interface card and receives hindrance information when hindrance in the interface card. The card control part recovers the interface card rapidly by providing the present FIB(Forwarding Information Based) information to the recovered interface card when recovery information of the interface card is received.
