A hair growing composition and its preparation method are provided to promote hair growth and inhibit hair loss by supplying nutrients to the hairs and moisturizing the hairs. The method for preparing the hair growing composition comprises the steps of: (i) washing Cornus officinalis SIEB. et ZUCC, green tea leaf and ginkgo leaf with water of 60-80 deg. C for 2-3 minutes, drying and extracting them with water; (ii) dipping Zanthoxylum piperitum and Zanthoxylum fruit in loess water to remove their toxicity, drying them, and extracting them with ethyl alcohol; and (iii) mixing 40-60 parts by weight of the mixture of step(i), 15-25 parts by weight of the mixture of step(ii) and 25-35 parts by weight of a mixture containing emu oil, shea butter, honey, natural soybean lecithin, natural tocopherol and camellia oil, stirring the mixture, and dipping porous ceramics in the mixture for 24-48 hours.
