A traffic information guiding system using a paging channel and a mobile communication terminal for the same are provided to utilize the traffic information guide service without extra charge for the service by supplying the traffic information through the paging channel between a base station and the mobile communication terminal. A traffic information guiding system connected with a mobile communication network including a base station and a base station controller and a traffic information collecting server collecting the traffic information in real time to transmit the traffic information to a mobile communication terminal through a paging channel includes a control unit(310) controlling the whole operations of the traffic information guiding system; a database(360) storing information related to the system; a base station information collecting unit(320) receiving the base station information transmitted from the base station controller in real time according to the control of the control unit, and storing and managing the base station information in the database; a traffic information collecting unit(330) receiving real-time regional traffic information transmitted from the traffic information collecting server according to the control of the control unit, and storing and managing the information in the database; and a traffic information guiding message generating unit(340) dividing the traffic information collected by the traffic information collecting unit according to the control of the control unit, by a unit of the base station collected by the base station information collecting unit, and generating a traffic information guide message by changing and processing a format to transmit the traffic information to the mobile communication terminal through the paging channel. |
