A light measurement apparatus comprises a container (7) which includes a sample tank (8), a lens (5) which condenses light from a sample accommodated in the sample tank, a photodetector (13) which detects light from the sample, the light having been transmitted through the lens, position detecting means (15) for detecting a position of the sample tank based on a detection output from the photodetector, and position adjusting means (18, 19) for setting the container or the lens based on a detection output from the position detecting means.
