<p>A transmission power control method of a mobile communication terminal and the mobile communication terminal thereof are provided to block power supply to a transmitter if the terminal is located within a shadow area for more than a predetermined time, thus power consumption of the terminal is reduced. A mobile communication terminal senses the reception power level of a signal received from a BS(Base Station) through a receiver(S100). If the sensed receiving power level is less than a preset threshold reception power value, the terminal sets a value, which is generated by adding a preset value to a preset counter value, to a counter value(S110,S120). If the set counter value is bigger than or equal to a preset threshold counter value, the terminal outputs a control signal for powering off a transmitter for transmitting a signal to the BS, to a power unit(S130,S140).</p> |
