An RF autocorrelation signal trigger generator is provided to determine presence of an interested condition by providing an autocorrelation trigger. A measurement apparatus for capturing signal data based on an autocorrelation trigger includes a correlation detector(44), a lag generator(46), and a comparator(48). The correlation detector is for producing a correlation coefficient by correlating a signal with a time-delayed version of the signal. The lag generator is for providing the time-delayed version of the signal to the correlation detector. The comparator is connected with the correlation detector in order to generate a trigger when a correlation condition is satisfied.
