A gas stove is provided to improve maneuverability without interference in cleaning or cooking by applying a touch switch in an operation unit in spite of an upper plate made of metal, and to improve quality by enhancing appearance of the upper plate. A gas stove(1) includes a stove body(3) containing a burner, an upper plate(6) made of metal sheet and flattened to cover an upper part of the stove body, and an operation unit(16) formed in the upper plate to command the operation of the burner. The operation unit has a window part(17) penetrating the upper plate, a glass plate(18) closing the window part, and a touch switch(31) formed in a rear part of the window glass plate and operated by the glass plate. The upper plate is made of a thick aluminum sheet, and projections are protruded in the upper part. The touch switch is formed between the projections of the upper plate, and the upper plate is formed by extruding aluminum.
