BIOMARKER FOR RESPONSE MONITORING OF CDK INHIBITORS IN THE CLINIC

Methods for testing and assessing whether an agent that inhibits cdk activit y produces a therapeutic response in a mammal, with a focus on detecting the inhibition o f phosphorylation of the retinoblastoma protein (Rb) at putative phosphorylati on sites, are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for monitoring pharmacodynamic drug action of a cdk inhibitor in a surrogate tissue(s) of a mammal, preferably a rat, mouse or human.
