<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel which has excellent contrast in an oblique direction, and in which light leakage in black display is small and a color shift is small. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel is provided with a backlight part emitting light having luminance distribution of a horizontally oblong shape when the longitudinal direction of the panel is defined as a horizontal direction, a first polarizer, a liquid crystal cell, an optical compensation layer having refractive index distribution of nx>ny>nz, and a second polarizer in this order from the backlight side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
