PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ester in which deterioration of a separation membrane is prevented and reaction time is shortened and the amount of an alcohol used is reduced in esterification reaction using the separation membrane. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the corresponding ester by reacting a carboxylic acid with an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst, the catalyst is a solid acid catalyst and water is separated by using a porous support and a separation membrane having an aluminosilicate formed on the porous support and having 1-5 Si/Al (atomic ratio) from the above reaction system.
