PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic having hair-protecting effects, conditioning effects and the like superior to those of the conventional one. SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic contains (A) 0.01-10.0 mass% of one or more kinds of Gemini cationic surfactants represented by general formula (I) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a straight chain or branched 5-25C saturated or unsaturated alkyl group; R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>are each a 1-5C alkyl group; and X is a halogen atom or a short-chain sulfate ion group] based on the hair cosmetic, and (B) 10.0-50.0 mass% of one or more kinds of polyhydric alcohols and/or saccharides based on the hair cosmetic.
