<p>A heat history indicating ink composition for irreversibly indicating the accumulation of the elapse of time and temperature, which comprises, based on the whole composition, (A) 0.5 to 5 wt % of an acid-base color change dye having a color change region at a pH of 9 or less, (B) 0.5 to 5 wt % of a volatile organic amine having a boiling point of 100 to 370°C and (C) 0.1 to 4 wt % of one or more of color change rate adjusting agents selected from the group consisting of 1) an ester from a multi- valent carboxylic acid having 4 to 12 carbon atoms and an ether alcohol, 2) a polyester from said multi-valent carboxylic acid and a glycol and 3) an alkylsulfonic acid ester, wherein each of 1), 2) and 3) has a specific structure, and (D) 10 to 35 wt % of a binder resin. The ink composition allows the completion of color change at a lower temperature or in a shorter period of time as compared to a conventional ink composition, is free from the color restitution after a color change, and is stale with respect to the properties, such as water resistance or weather resistance, of a coating film comprising the ink composition.</p> |
