<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain various use management configurations for recording/reproduction contents to which information recording mediums are applied. <P>SOLUTION: Encrypted data corresponding to a content management unit are generated by encryption based on a unit key, and the generation or update of a unit key file and a use control information file is executed as management information, and recorded in an information recording medium. When performing the reproduction and use of a content, key acquisition and control from the management information is executed. A unit key corresponding to a play list or clip is set in the unit key file, and control information different at each play list identifier or control information different at each control information changing point in the clip is recorded as a use control information (CCI) file.
