PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide spun yarn excellent in bulkiness, given by not only using a natural fiber including cotton, but also using a synthetic fiber including a polyester, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a bulky woven or knitted fabric given by using the bulky spun yarn. SOLUTION: This bulky spun yarn is produced by subjecting spun yarn which is twisted in a prescribed direction to twist setting and then reversely twisting the set spun yarn in a direction reverse to the direction in which the spun yarn is twisted. The bulky spun yarn thus produced has large torque by which the yarn is untwisted and many clearances between fibers composing the yarn, so that the bulky spun yarn has puffiness and thickness, and is excellent in flexibility and in the bulkiness. Further, the woven or knitted fabric which is excellent in heat-retaining properties is provided by weaving or knitting the bulky spun yarn into the fabric. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
