PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable inertia travel and acceleration from the inertia travel by operation of only an accelerator, by recovering and discharging kinetic energy of an automobile when necessary at speed reduction time. SOLUTION: When both the accelerator and a brake are not stepped down when the automobile travels, the automobile is made to travel by inertia by a one-way clutch. When the brake is stepped down when the automobile travels, a motive power regenerative engine except for an internal combustion engine is made to function as a compressor and an air brake. Surplus air exhausted from a relief valve for the brake is stored in an air tank by pressurization. When the accelerator is stepped down, the motive power regenerative engine is made to function as an air motor. Fuel corresponding to an accelerator depressing quantity is supplied to the internal combustion engine by using output of only the internal combustion engine, or the fuel of an idling corresponding quantity is supplied to the internal combustion engine in a depressing shallow range of the accelerator while changing output of the motive power regenerative engine, and the fuel corresponding to the accelerator depressing quantity is supplied to the internal combustion engine in a depressing deep range.
