A keypad having a protective protrusion and a fabrication method thereof are provided to be equipped with a protrusion positioned in an outer part of a key layer, thereby protecting a display unit of a mobile communication terminal from a keypad. A key layer(100) has plural keys. The first silicon layer(200) is positioned in a lower part of the key layer(100). The first upper protrusion(300) is formed on the first silicon layer(200), and is positioned in at least a part of an outer side of the key layer(100). The height of the first upper protrusion(300) from a surface of the key layer(100) is between 0.1mm and 0.6mm.
