PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium agitating type crushing apparatus surely separating slurry from a crushing medium, and causing no local dense collection of the crushing medium in a crushing chamber. SOLUTION: The crushing medium is filled in a space in crushing tank. An agitation member has hollow structure having an end part opening at a distant end from a slurry inlet, and has a medium separation member disposed in the inner hollow space of the agitation member. A medium circulating opening is formed in the agitation member for allowing the hollow space to communicate with the crushing chamber. The agitation member has agitation blades causing rotation and axial movement directed to the end part opening of the agitation member to the slurry and crushing medium in the crushing chamber. The slurry and crushing medium enter the hollow space of the agitation member from the crushing chamber via the end part opening of the agitation member, the medium is separated from the slurry by the medium separation member, and the slurry is discharged from a slurry outlet.
