PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic treatment apparatus which can lower the temperature of a treatment section rapidly and also can improve maneuverability of the treatment section. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic treatment apparatus comprises an ultrasonic treatment instrument 6, a water supply and suction device 4, a control section for an ultrasonic output unit 2, and a control section for the water supply and suction device 4. The ultrasonic treatment instrument 6 performs a treatment on the biological tissue using ultrasonic vibrations. The water supply and suction device 4 working as a liquid supplying means supplies cooling liquid for cooling the ultrasonic treatment instrument 6 to the ultrasonic treatment instrument 6. The water supply and suction device 4 working as a liquid sucking means sucks the cooling liquid supplied by itself to the ultrasonic treatment instrument 6. The control section working as an ultrasonic actuation controlling means controls the actuation of ultrasonic vibration at the ultrasonic treatment instrument 6. The control section working as a supply and suction controlling means controls supply actuation of the water supply and suction device 4 and suction actuation of the water supply and suction device 4 successively on the basis of the output from the control section for the ultrasonic output unit.
