The invention relates to a payment platform for using telecommunications networks (O) and terminals (A, B) for carrying out electronic payments and to appropriate methods. According to said invention, a service telephone number is assigned at least to one telephone number of a service unit (SN1 to SNx) in such a way that it is possible to carry out a payment transfer by dialling said number. A transfer recording unit (1) records communications made between different service telephone numbers and a subscriber telephone number (TelNra) which initiated communications. An account databank (3) stores the state of accounts for plurality of subscriber telephone numbers using the network (O) and a booking unit (2) transmits an entry to the account databank (3) in such a way that the subscriber telephone number (TelNra) which initiated communications is considered as a source address for payment and the content (TelNrb) of a message sent to the service telephone number is considered as a payment destination address, a book transfer value being derived from the dialled service telephone number.
