An actuator having an improved VCM(Voice Coil Motor) and an HDD(Hard Disc Drive) with the same are provided to increase the rotation driving force of the VCM and improve power efficiency by obtaining force for rotating an actuator from three parts of a VCM coil. A swing arm(132) is rotatably combined to an actuator pivot(131), and a suspension(133) for supporting a head is installed in a front end part of the swing arm(132). A coil supporting part(135) is formed in a rear end part of the swing arm(132). A VCM(140) provides rotation driving force to an actuator(130). The VCM(140) has a VCM coil(142) and a magnet(144). The VCM coil(142) is combined to the coil supporting part(135). The magnet(144) is disposed in at least one of an upper side and a lower side of the VCM coil(142). The VCM coil(142) has the first to the fourth parts(142a-142d). The first and the second parts(142a,142b) are disposed in a direction actually orthogonal to a rotation direction of the actuator(130), and are separated at a certain interval. The third and the fourth parts(142c,142d) connect both ends of the first part(142a) with both ends of the second part(142b). The third and the fourth parts(142c,142d) are arranged in a rotary direction of the actuator(130). The third part(142c) is disposed to be close to the actuator pivot(131). The fourth part(142d) is disposed to be distant from the actuator pivot(131). The magnet(144) is disposed to be faced with the first to the third parts(142a-142c).
