<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly reduce the noises of images while stably keeping the brightness of the images with an endoscope. <P>SOLUTION: The endoscope processor 20 has an AGC circuit 32, a noise reduction filter circuit 33, a histogram generation circuit 35 and an arithmetic circuit 36. An original image signal generated by an image sensor 41 is transmitted to the histogram generation circuit 35 and the AGC circuit 32. From the original image signal, the histogram generation circuit 35 calculates the first amplification ratio jointly with the arithmetic circuit 36. The AGC circuit 32 amplifies the original image signal from the first amplification ratio. The AGC circuit 32 amplifies the original image signal to generate an adjusting signal.
