PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing and editing device capable of moderating an unpleasant feeling of a person who intends to use the device caused by waiting for his (her) turn when the person who intends to use the device waits for his (her) turn, and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: A situation that a new user can be received or not in photographing space 7 is detected, and also the using state of a chair for standby 60 attached to a machine base frame 1a forming the photographing space 7 is detected. Based on a result obtained by detecting the situation that the user can be received or not and a result obtained by detecting the using state of the chair, call information for guiding the user sitting on the chair for standby 60 to the photographing space 7 is displayed on a monitor 66.
