PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a draft device in a spinning machine, targeting the stabilization of a sliver fed to the draft device at drafting. SOLUTION: The draft device in the spinning machine has a sliver-regulating guide means 1 for regulating the sliver L fed to the draft device by holding the sliver L in the upper and lower direction so as to form a flat shape, installed in the upstream side of a draft roller Rb at the most upstream side in the draft device D.
