A method for correcting error generated in the recognition of transfer environment of an image forming apparatus is provided to determine whether environment recognition error is generated according to a variation in the temperature of a fixing roller and correct the error to apply an appropriate high voltage to the image forming apparatus according to environment. A method for correcting transfer environment recognition error of an image forming apparatus includes a step of calculating a variation in the temperature of a fixing roller(S230), a step of determining whether the transfer environment recognition error is generated using the calculated temperature variation(S240), and a step of correcting a vertical index and a horizontal index of a transfer table according to whether the environment recognition error is generated.
