An optical signal transmission device and a signal processing method are provided to prevent generation of noise or distortion caused by induced Brillouin scattering, without largely increasing the size of circuits. An E/O(Electric/Optical) unit(1) comprises the followings. A noise generator(12) generates white noise. The first filter(13) has an attenuation characteristic in an occupying band frequency of a carrier signal. A multiplexer(14) inputs the carrier signal and the generated white noise through the first filter(13), and generates a transmission signal where the inputted carrier signal and white noise are overlapped together, then outputs the generated transmission signal. A laser diode(16) converts the transmission signal into an optical signal to output the converted signal to an optical fiber(3). An O/E(Optical/Electric) unit(2) comprises as follows. An optical detector(21) demodulates the received optical signal into an electric signal. The second filter(23) inputs the demodulated electric signal to have a passing characteristic in the occupying band frequency. An output amplifier(24) outputs the electric signal outputted from the second filter(23) as a carrier signal.
