PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of detecting the elongation of conveyor chains with a high degree of accuracy using photographed imageries from a camera arranged at the side of migration pathway of conveyor chains. SOLUTION: In the elongation detecting system of conveyor chain where a camera 16 is arranged at the side of a migration pathway of conveyor chain 1 combining a center link 2 arranged alternately and a pair of sidelinks 3a and 3b by a linking pin 5 at the crossover 4 between both links, a photography area 15 including a specified domain of the aforementioned conveyor chain 1 is shot with this camera 16 at a fixed timing, and the length in migrating direction of the chain in the specified domain concerned from images of the aforementioned specified domain of the conveyor chain 1 obtained, the aforementioned specified domain of the conveyor chain is configured by setting a domain AX1 between anterior ends 2a or posterior ends 2b facing to same direction of the two center links 2 neighboring back and forth through a pair of sidelinks 3a and 3b.
