<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the human operator's participation by providing processing automated at least partially for segmentation and object tracking, which has efficiency of segmentation based on estimation of the boundary or contour of an object as well as robustness of tracking of a color area relating to the object. <P>SOLUTION: The object in one image called a reference image within a sequence of images is segmented in a spatial domain by estimation of its contour, and the contour of the object is tracked in other images of the sequence on the basis of values associated with pixels of the segmented object in the reference image in the color space. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
