<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for epoxidizing diolefins, so as to obtain a bifunctional epoxy monomer containing an epoxy group and a double bond in its molecule. <P>SOLUTION: This new method for producing the bifunctional epoxy monomer comprises selectively epoxidizing a double bond in a specified position of the diolefins, wherein the diolefins are reacted with an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution in the presence of a molybdenum or tungsten oxide used as a catalyst. The bifunctional epoxy monomer produced in the method is a useful substance which is widely used as a raw material for a resist material (especially, a solder-resist material) or a raw material for every kind of polymer, such as an intermediate for an agrochemical/pharmaceutical, a plasticizer, an adhesive, a coating resin, in various fields of industries, including chemical industries. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
