PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protrudable fence post which is constructed such that a post body vertically movably housed in an external cylinder is energized in an elevating direction by a wind-up force of a constant force spring having a balancing constant force larger than the weight of the post body, wherein the post body can be moved upward at a stable elevating speed by a braking means that is simpler and less expensive than ever. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the protrudable fence post 1, a bottom plate 31 having a diameter larger than the external diameter of the post body 3 is attached to the bottom of the post body 3, and a braking device 5 which is set up so as to press a vertically extending brake shoe 52 to the inside of the external cylinder 2 by an elastic force of a spring member is arranged on the internal surface of the external cylinder 2. Thus the elevating speed of the post body 3 is damped by contact friction between the braking surface 54 of the brake shoe 52 and the edge of the bottom plate 31. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
